Jo Land (née Larkman) Empty Jo Land (née Larkman)

Found my own Charity shop treasure today (great find DD). 16cm tall, 14cm widest point. Really fluid and spontaneous form, salt glazed stoneware.
It took me a while to figure out just what letters where incised on the base looking from all angles, decided it was J and I think it's Jo Land (née Larkman)..found it in the marks book, fairly straightforward.
I'd never come across her work before and it seems quite instinctive and unforced...I like it.
If I'm right on the ID she's still working in Wales according to http://www.studiopottery.co.uk/profile/Jo/Land and she's exhibited in Buxton in the past! must catch her if she comes back.
I couldn't find any past ID for her so I thought posting might be useful?

I have seen some of her work in the past but not an unglazed wood-fired vase like this, which is very much to my taste.

One point in your description that is incorrect is that it is not salt-glazed. I suspect what you are thinking suggests this is salt glazed is the natural ash on the surface that comes from the wood used to fuel the kiln.

Thanks SP...I tend to be more enthusiasm than knowledge with firing processes and glazes.

I must get to Buxton more often than I do! (had a few pick-ups there).
