TROIKA VASE?

Post by cleo4patra on December 28th 2015, 2:43 pm

NEW TO THE FORUM : I have recently acquired a vase with an impressed circle on the front (the circle has celtic patterns on it) The only way I can describe it is it looks like concrete! has a faint mark on the bottom "Troika Cornwall" and an impressed squiggle monogram on the back (A D ?) . measures approx 8" high . Sorry to be vague I've tried to upload an image with no success thank you

Do need pictures to be sure, but sounds like "Troika Cornwall" may have been added at a later date.

Sounds like stoneware and I do know of a potter the marks using an incised "AD" mark, I don't know his name, but the person I am thinking of does make pots that sort of remind me of Troika (and potters like Wallwork, Rooke etc).

It looks nothing like Troika I'm afraid and the Troika Cornwall would most likely have be added later by someone with a Magic Marker.

Not familiar with the mark on the side, which is the real mark.
