Antique fluted ribbed glass bowl

Post by carlos32golf on December 16th 2015, 4:48 pm

Hello all

I am looking for a little help identifying this glass bowl , any help at all would be appreciated , age? manufacturer? style of glass? etc

As I mentioned , it is antique late 19th to early 20th century I think , polished pontil scar , fluted ribbed glass bowl with pink hue to the glass.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I think you are right on the age, seen many pieces wth this distinctive ribbing,
cranberry and vaseline/opaline, which this isn't, nice bit.

Hi Denby

It is quite light and has a strange ring when tapped , Sounds like a dull ring like a large church bell.

I was looking up a similar style of bowl recently and the trailing is done by machine, invented by the Victorians. No idea of the maker, though, sorry, but always worth checking Stuart or Webb
