Help ID my Ironware/Stoneware Jardinaire

Hello all,

It's the weekend but still working so I'm hoping that some of you in the UK will still be at home before a well deserved pint...

I have this lovely jardinière and I'm trying to ID it. None of my books or searching on Google or Bing are helping me. It's a signed piece and I'm not only having trouble with the artist but also the backstamp. I've tried to decipher it and I think it says from top to bottom, Old England, English Made, T.L.L. but I'm not 100%. As I said, I'm also struggling with the signature too. Has anyone seen this signature or backstamp before? I'd appreciate any help or guidance you could give me. Thanks in advance.

Looks like Leader to me. I suspect it was a bought in blank used by a decorator.

It's not Lauder. Alexander Lauder followed the incised sgraffito tradition of decoration and did paint directly on like this. It is also the wrong clay for him. To me it does look like a Staffordshire blank that has been decorated as NaomiM said.

But I am not sure why your asking who made it? The First picture you have gives you all the details. I take it from the pictures it says the following.

Old English (the design)
English made (the country of origin)
T.D?.? (the company who made it)

The last line is the most important. As close as I get while having to guess the 2nd and 3rd letters is Thomas Forester & Sons from Staffordshire. Right clay, right age, right design and right country as they exported the majority of what they made to America. As has been said Leader is the artist. If its not TF&S or a version of that and you can get a clear idea what those three letters are finding out the factory will be very easy.
