elephant procession pot

Post by 2canton4 on October 4th 2015, 11:12 am

Hello, Can someone please tell me the region of origin of this wonderfully painted "elephant procession" earthenware pot? Is it older or new? There are no marks that I could see and there is some wear to the paint on the interior, so it has been used! Any information or assistance with this query would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

"Modern Art" is produced by incompetents, sold by charlatans and bought by ignoramuses?

It is enlightening to juxtapose "Fine Art" to "Modern Art"

The ears on the elephant look more Indian than African.

Reminds me of the hand painted papier-mâché and wooden trinket boxes from India
