In the Middle Ages vessels made of cheap orange coloured clay were used by most of the population for household wares. This clay was known as pygg and it is thought that this is where the name "piggy bank" originated . In these early vessels the pots had bottoms so that the money stayed inside. A concept that seems to have been forgotten here. Cheeky

The blue and the groups of dots make me think of Wetheriggs, though I can't find anything that close, and maybe the white is too starkly white. An idea, anyway.

I'm wondering if it originally had a base, not just a cap.
