Glit Iceland Lava Dish

Post by stardust* on August 23rd 2015, 7:04 pm

I picked this up today in a bargain box! thought it looked like lava pottery, but couldn't quite make out the whole marking. I've done some limited research and it turns out to be Glit , founded by Ragnar Kjartansson (1923-1988). There is a painted A on the back. I've no idea what the symbol is all about. I thought someone might be a collector of Glit pottery.... I would appreciate any information.
It's 15cm wide.

I only know what we have here. Not sure it adds anything to what you already know

Thanks Naomi, it's good to see other similar finds. I think it's a style people either love or find a bit weirdly interesting.
