Hi

A very pleasing piece and I need to take some more adeptly exposed photographs. In the meantime is the style, glaze colours or mark recognised by any one? The size is about 11'' by 11'' by 5''.

Lovely glaze.
Not seeing the whole of the base on the multiphoto collage. Can you post it separately, please. Looks slip cast.

Looks like IK92. My first thought was Chinese but they aren't usually signed like that. Could be Continental?

It looks factory made and the ceramic body looks very low quality.

The glazing effect is flash and I suspect the "signature" is to make it seem like it is something that it is not.

So cheap Chinese import I'm afraid is what it looks like to me.

Do you know that after other people with taste have looked at it... it's a 'Lemon'. What's nice is that I put it up here and asked for opinions and as soon as they came in the rose tinted glasses were removed and it was all politely put as well. It happens, you get blinded and it's an expensive lesson to myself. A good sounding board here, don't get me wrong I got chumped on this piece but it was from not seeing anything nice looking on a Saturday mooch anymore. Must put the wallet away and get out the small change again until my eye is back in Excellent to the site and Hobbled

It's how we all learn and the glaze does look extremely interesting at first sight. That's why I think it's Chinese, as I don't think anyone else could make that effect work on such an inexpensive clay body.

Yes I see precisely what you are saying. I didn't even notice it was slip till Naomi said and that's really basic stuff. I was thrilled with the glaze levels and colours. (Thank goodness I got a pile of 90's vinyl thrown in with the deal :0) Laughter

but is it still a bargain? If you can buy a well glazed large pot for a couple of quid it's still more decorative than one of those stupid "keep calm" signs that people hang up in their homes

This has happened to be more times than I like to admit. But as SP says it's all learning. And learning is not always free!
