Square Dish Empty Square Dish

Square Dish <a href=Square Dish Dscf2815" />Does anyone know anything about this dish?  It's about 4.5" by 4.5" and is slightly concave; the back of it is unglazed and kind of looks like a tile. Looks similar to our nursery ware pieces which have a children's story or rhyme on the front. I'm afraid I can't read Kanji so I don't know what this one says, but I would guess the little girl is telling her father to be careful on the roof :)
I think it's Japanese. Looks like a dish or plate.
