By Elizabeth (Liz) Lawrence who has been potting for almost 50 years. She was based in Bristol in 2000 before moving to Newport in Gwent in 2003. Her website has lapsed so possibly retired.

Elizabeth (Liz) Lawrence Empty Porcelain rice bowl - Elizabeth Lawrence

Well made bowl. The light brown decoration has a very rough texture.
A clear impreessed mark, but I'm guessing possibly modern Far Eastern production?

She only graduated in 2000, and her work looks quite contemporary so I wonder if there's a confusion with another potter of the same name.

A number of potters change direction in middle age or even on retirement from their main job and take up potting; some taking degrees and post-graduate courses - Peter Black, Kevin Akhurst, Alan Birchall etc etc. I believe she’s one of those

Hi HB, the glaze colours on my piece are an exact match for the vase
in the pic shown on the CPA website, so it must be right.

A pity they don't also show examples of the potter's marks.
