Help please - I think this is Japanese - Sanyu? Empty Help please - I think this is Japanese - Sanyu?

Hi All.  Hope someone can help.  I've been trying to find out the maker of this Twisted Blown glass vase.  So far I've discovered that it isn't Czech, Whitefriars or Scandinavian, and am fairly certain it isn't Murano, so that seems to point its origin towards Japan.  Found in the North-West of England.  It measures 16 cms tall x about 12 cms in diameter across the widest part and is heavy almost 1200 gms.  Unsigned, the base is polished with an indented polished pontilpolished pontil.  Any help would be much appreciated.
