an oddity - Westerwald?

Post by bistoboy on February 13th 2015, 9:23 pm

This is a real oddity.  The blue salt glaze looks like Westerwald pottery and the vase has been well potted (IMHO).  But the sgraffito decoration is much more naive and makes me think more of Africa perhaps?  It's not marked, just some odd green blobs on the base.  Could it be German influenced from an African colonial country? Or early Westerwald? or something else completely??? i'm stumped.

I love it but not got a clue. As you say, Westerwald meets Africa.
