Crystal Decanter

Post by Dannd on December 25th 2014, 3:14 am

Hello!

I have a lead crystal decanter I am having a difficult time identifying and was hoping someone here could point me in a good direction. There are no identifying makers marks but the shape seems somewhat unique. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dani, you don't say the size, but it looks more like a scent bottle
from a 1930s dressing-table set.

It could be for Eau de toilette. That comes in big bottles.

It holds around 750ml of liquid, thats enough Eau de Toilette to bath in!

Zippy,

Youre not seeing things! It was a stock code written on the stopper with a grease pen (not related to the actual piece).

Was thinking Steuben, but came accross this one.

A search for a 1930's or a Deco Decanter may turn something up.
