Salt glazed lidded pot - possibly David Melville (cf Occold)

Unmarked. Signs of wear so may be an early piece by a contemporary potter - or a student piece.

It's certainly not a student but it's going to be difficult to pin it down I think. I don't recall seeing anything by Micki with a lid.

Found a similar shaped unlidded pot by her. The lid doesn't fit very well; maybe she decided it was more trouble than it's worth.

David Melville said it might be one of his:

. David Melville
It looks like one I made when I was at college, I am only known for my reduction fired glazed pots. We had salt kilns at Medway(now UCA) and it looks like St Thomas clay with a white slip on the body but not the lid, I also used a shino glaze inside which came out the dark colour.I also didn't always stamp my pots then. Of course I could be wrong it was 38 years ago.
