Large thin walled stoneware assymetric bowl. DB? DLB?

Post by glassy potty man on October 4th 2014, 4:17 pm

Quite a large and impressive piece, very similar in style and proportions to a Lucie Rie salad bowl. Rough stoneware? with thin walls and subtle geometric surface patterns. Small hollow foot rim. Anyone know who made this one?

The bowl looks very well made, is a lovely shape and has a clear mark.............. but I don't know who it is by. Let's hope someone does .

Maybe EDB or combination of those characters?

It is a lovely piece. There seem to be so many potters out there who can throw out something wonderful but remain largely unknown. I've looked long and hard at the possible combination of letters in the mark. I'm not getting any closer to the maker though.

Part of the trouble is that there are a number of possible letters in the mark. Did you buy it in Hertfordshire?

Yes, bought in a charity shop in Welwyn Garden City.
