stoneware owl
Got this today in a job lot.
Looks to be stoneware and hand made.
About the size of a fist, a lot of work has gone into this little fella.
It has an impressed mark, but not one I recognise and hard to see.
So I pressed some bluetack in so you can see it better.
This is the mark with pic reversed, so it appears the same as when you look at it.
Would appreciate any ideas as to the maker.
Thanks.

Re: stoneware owl
Mark looks like a hedgehog.
The owl looks a similar clay to Quantock Designs. But I don' know if they ever used such a stamp

Now you say that, I can see it might be a hedgehog
Whilst the colour may look like Quantock, the feel is totally different.
Quantock is smooth as it is moulded, this is quite rough and bitty.
Right off to look up hedgehog back stamps.
