Hi

As shown a thick walled glass box with cut and rounded corners. Approx 5.5 inches across and 3.5 inches high. Any ideas as to it's origins?

I'm guessing a lidded butter dish. Are the sides slightly tapered outwards?
If  they are, well, Pre-war Davidson's maybe. Got to be British with those dimensions.
