Vase with cut neck

Post by denbydump on August 27th 2014, 8:52 am

Pretty certain it's scandanavian, but searches have failed to turn anything up so far.
Smokey sea green, with angled cut neck.  9 in high, no marks, pontil or ground base.

Whitefriars made a vase (9493) with a similar neck but with a bulbous body. I know where there is one of these for sale but like you haven't been able to ID it.

The base and colour do remind me of Caithness

Yes, Whitefriars copied scandanavian designs for that range, but the necks
were cut AND polished, this one is definitely not polished. I did check the
whitefriars books just in case though.
Hadn't though of cathness though, the base could be right.
