Animal shaped vase

Does anyone know this signature? It look like: avti ka vevo 76??? I tried different latter combination but no success so far. Doesn't look British to me, more like south of Europe or possibly Africa?

It's a bird. It might be native american or mexican, but it looks the sort of jug the potters at Vallauris based some of their designs on, so it might be from the Mediterranian region.

Yes it does look like a bird. I have feeling it's Greek, I can see the letters all right but cannot read them.
