I think this may be a Buncheong vase, made in Korea. The pattern has been inscribed and stamped in the grey clay and infilled with a white clay, a technique which is typical of Buncheong ware - However I haven't found another with this particular pattern, nor with a red & greenish-brown glaze applied to the upper half of the pot.

I suspect it is South Korean, Naomi. The technique can also be found in Japan where it is call "mishima" and was used in the UK by Motoko Wakana when she was working in St. Ives.

It was introduced into Japan from Korea and I don't know of any other country where the technique is used.

The shape of your vase doesn't look typical of Japanese potteries using this technique hence agreeing with you on it being from Korea.

Cheers, SP. Yes, shape isn't typical and technically I think it's too crude to be by a copycat. So likely to be a provincial/peasant piece.
