Are the letters Greek ? I'll be very surprised if its tourist "tat"...heavy and well made...and not very Greek looking...looking forward to your help

Yes, Greek. I guess AOE is greek for owl, because it's on a number of coins and figurines from Athens that bear the image of an owl.
Not found this particular figurine, though, but without a maker's mark there's not much to go on.
