Unusual Imperial Amphora female figure signed Vogt

Post by MILANNOIR on February 27th 2014, 3:04 pm

Hello
I'm really interested if anyone can tell me more about this Imperial Amphora figure I acquired recently. It came to me from a family whose relative was in Austria in the 1910s. Signed Vogt, Wien and I think it's an Imperial Techinical School work. Height 29cm. The treatment is interesting, he is doing Social Realist Impressionism, not the usual fantasy creations of the Art Nouveau. And the glaze/decoration is imitating patinated metal. Does anyone know of any other pieces by Vogt or any biography.
