Victorian? putti vase

Post by NaomiM on February 21st 2014, 8:41 am

Porcelain. Transfer print putti and other decoration on an orange-red ground.
Pattern number but no manufacturer's mark on the base.
I'm assuming Victorian, by one of the Spode copyists / Staffordshire, but hoping someone can narrow it down.
22cm tall, 11cm dia.

I had a piece very much like this in colour and transfer style, it was circa 1870 and was a candle/night stand.

it was made by wardle art pottery...
