S Hancock Lagoon Ware Corona Ware

I found this firm on the Potteries Website. Can you confirm that this must date 1935-1937.  I thought it was candle wax, or similar, covering the backstamp, but it's some sort of spillage! Thank you.

The company was originally Sampson Hancock and later Sons was added. However, for the last 2 years that they were in existance (1935 to 37) they were S. Hancock & Sons Ltd (Ltd added) and the pottery was renamed "Corona Pottery". So my source (Godden) agrees with the website that you looked at.
