Blue Lady Cameo Glass Vase.. An Interesting One..

Post by Dannd on September 7th 2013, 2:42 am

Hello!

I found an interesting vase I couldnt help but buy due to its interesting design. Unfortunately due to its unique shape I cant seem to find anything with my research. Any insights from the board would be appreciated to guide me in the right direction. Thank you!

Found one:

Phoenix Glass Sculptured Artware Madonna Vase, Blue Cameo, Ca. 1937

When Kenneth Haley, who, with his father Reuben had created Consolidated's Martele' line of art glass in 1926, left Consolidated for the Phoenix Glass Company in 1928 he took with him 45 of the Consolidated Martele' molds, which were to become Phoenix's "Reuben Line", and the basis for their "Sculptured Artware" line of art glass. This expanded line of glass was in production by 1934, and featured new pieces and finishes.

Naomi,

Your wealth of knowledge (and research skill!) never ceases to amaze me! Thank you again for your help! I forgot to include a statement about why I didnt include a photo of the base, as there was no marking or sticker indicating anything useful. This company has some very beautiful designs, almost a Wedgwood jasperware meets Lalique. Thank you again for your help!

Base shots are always useful, even if there's no mark or label. Happy

Yes, that's the one. Unfortunately links to listings that are selling items aren't allowed on the forum, so it's best just to copy & paste the info so members can google it if they wish.

Really? I thought the only problem would be posting links to your own items for sale or being disrespectful to other's but cannot see a problem with a link to anything that simply shares information take it or leave it

http://www.20thcenturyforum.com/t7414-commercial-external-links

It's the 'temporary nature' that's one of the main problems. 6 months down the line the link could be unavailable (ebay items, especially) and no one would know what was on it.
