Salt Glaze Studio jug with fancy handle - Carole Scott

Hi all

Just picked up this Jug. It looks a little like the work of Jane Hamlyn I have seen but the mark on the handle (I think its a mark) looks different to what is posted on this website, the base is blank. The design though looks very familiar to me, I am sure I have seen it. Anyone recognise it?

We've had two of these posted for ID ( I think by Davee and Sunny). Unfortunately, I believe it's still unidentified.

It's by Carole Scott - not the same as Carol Scott in Cornwall but cannot find a website for her. You can find a current offering on the-saleroom at Woolley and Wallis, Lot 515
She was brought up in SARK and studied in Brighton, where she was running a pottery studio around 1980s or so... Not sure if she might have changed her name. Definitely influenced by Jane Hamlyn.

welcome jaswall and well done for hitting the ground running, we have been trying to identify that potter for some time now

She was a lodger with my family when she was at college in Brighton. I have a pot in my bathroom - very familiar and distinctive work!
