Any ideas please on date of this pot. I understand that Southcliffe Ceramic Company was re-named Creigiau Pottery in 1948/9, but all examples that I have found of Southcliffe appear to have the mark in a script rather than the stamp shown here. I also feel from the decor style that this is later than that date (I would have guessed 60s/70s). All thoughts appreciated John

According to Godden Creigiau Pottery was owned by RG Southcliffe & Co Ltd and used various marks from 1948, including "Southcliffe Creigiau Wales". So I think that must be what you have.

Looks like it closed in 1981 from the Studio Pottery site so I agree 60's / 70's is likely.

Creigiau Pottery
Reg and Jean Southcliffe set up the Southcliffe Ceramic Company in Creigiau near Cardiff in Wales in 1947. A year later they changed the name to Creigiau Pottery.

Example of Creigiau copper lustre ware, with blue-glazed interior. Hard to photograh: it actually looks much golden than this. Marked "CREIGIAU CARDIFF WALES":

Nice account of working at Creigiau, including the revelation "Reg Southcliffe made out that the lustre was a secret recipe but to be truthful it was always bought in bottles from Stoke":
