Creamer - missing wooden handle

Post by NaomiM on April 3rd 2013, 11:43 pm

Creamer (small pouring jug) missing wooden handle. Unmarked, or the mark's hidden under the glaze.
I'm probably wrong, but I always thought this sort of form (with wooden handle) was Scandinavian.
(Not Penderleath Pottery - wrong clay)

I've seen pieces made by Marianne De Trey in this glaze pattern so that's a possibility. But other potteries have also used it, eg, Bartley Heath Pottery, so not a definite identification. I haven't found any other jugs in exactly this shape , though, but similar ones I've seen do have a wooden handle.
