Re: Utrecht collectors fair
bump
In all probabilty a visit to the 'verzamelbeurs' in Utrecht will take place next weekend.
So if anybody wants any European pottery then let me know what your wish-list is and I'll see what I can do.

Re: Utrecht collectors fair
Just got back from the 'verzamelbeurs' in Utrecht which was really good - very quiet though in relation to last time I went in November. The usual tat but really some good stuff as well. Managed to spend nothing yet again. I feel I need to get some more knowledge about European pottery before I splash out - at the moment I don't know the difference between the good and the bad.
I did meet up with Hans Petersen though who was selling Inuit items done by a friend of his. He had some great Inuit stuff there made of serpentine. There was a particularly striking serpentine bear sculpture which was very impressive but way above my budget. I had a long chat with Hans and found out that he is a textile-artist working in Eindhoven so I looked him up on the Internet. His work is pretty good: http://www.galeriederoos-tilburg.nl/2010/09/borduren-een-tweede-natuur/. We got talking ceramics and he said that Rachel Wood was his favourite contemporary ceramicist and that it was her stuff I should be buying. Good advice perhaps.
All-in-all a productive day.
