It's listed in Goddens but very little info. Old Hampstead Pottery Co. Ltd was 1948-1951, then Seviers Pottery Ltd 1951 onwards. Written or incised mark.

The Old Hampstead Pottery was the partnership of Martha Rickatson and Maria Seviers, which was dissolved in April 1951. From that date, Maria Seviers, continued the pottery as a limited company until November 1966 when it went into receivership. I believe that a number of potters and decorators worked there rather than it being a one woman operation. Therefore your painted mark dates the piece from between 1951 and 1966.

An exhibition of the work of  Maria Seviers held at the Craftsman Potters' Shop in 1963 was reviewed in the magazine "Ceramics". I've only seen the snippets available through Google Books, but it gives a description of her individual pieces - clearly rather different from the general production of the Seviers Pottery - and a little of her background.

"AT AN INTERESTING EXHIBITION of studio pottery held at the Craftsman Potters' Shop, Lowndes Court, Carnaby Street, London, W. I., Maria Seviers showed many individual pieces, some of them reminiscent of Chinese ceramics. A satisfying bond between form, texture and design, indicative of the skill of the creative potter, was evident in sophisticated miniatures, tall bottles, jugs, dishes and vases glazed in many shades — black, rich browns and glowing siennas...."

"After studying at the Camberwell and Central Schools of Art in London, Mrs. Seviers started her own pottery in a converted stable in Perrins  Lane, Hampstead. That was 15 years ago and the same building is still the home of Seviers pottery, which now supplies shops and stores all over the country."
