Dansk metal rabbit thing

Paul came home with this funny little thing - it's by Dansk (marked to the base 'Dansk International Designs Ltd Japan EPZ') and we don't know what it is! We've had lots of Dansk items but never something like this - is it a paperweight or perhaps the slit in the ears is to hold something? Most odd - it's very small by the way - about an inch or two tall and very heavy.

We found another one today - this one is a pig and it's in it's original box.

It's described as a silver-plated paperweight.
